Collaborate, Design, Inspire then Educate

Collaborate, Design, Inspire then Educate

“Having a great idea and not selling it well is like sitting on a pig and hoping for a ham sandwich!” Very well said Sam Harrison. This weekend, the Atlanta Wedding Creative is hosting our first education event, A Planners Workshop. This is not your regular sitting in the room sipping water listening to people talk type of workshop. Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events and Brian Green of F&G Weddings have spent quality time putting together an intensive itinerary filled with interactive sessions including some of Atlanta’s top Wedding Industry Professionals. I am most excited about the tablescape photo shoot each attendee gets to do with amazing photographers Janet Howard of Janet Howard Studio and Jeremy Harwell of Harwell Photography. What a fabulous start or enhancement to one’s portfolio! Speaking of tablescapes, check out this behind the scenes video by Inije Photo from AWC’s first photo shoot with Ross Oscar Knight. It’s not too late to register at http://awcworkshop.eventbrite.com/.

AWC Planners Workshop Speaker Spotlight: Michelle Gainey {Lemiga Events}

Tom Peters of Fast Company said, “A brand is a promise of the value received.” Michelle Gainey, Lead Designer of Lemiga Events, has built her brand believing that statement. I had the privilege of meeting Michelle just before she opened StudioWed and remember thinking, this young lady is really going to change the Atlanta wedding industry. Michelle has successfully built her own brand and had a hand in taking the StudioWed brand to another level. For those of you unfamiliar with StudioWed, it is an exclusive collection of Atlanta’s wedding vendors representing the finest wedding professionals that service the Atlanta area. This is a hip and revolutionary concept in local and destination weddings in Atlanta: a stylish and sophisticated planning studio where the area’s best vendors come to you. Meet with a photographer over coffee in the morning and enjoy a glass of wine as you chat with a florist in the afternoon. Best of all, there’s no cost to you to use StudioWed’s services, so you can feel free to spend an entire day — or as many as you need — planning your big day. Michelle has built a great balance between the two businesses and an awesome staff to help her maintain them. As Lead Designer and Planner of Lemiga Events, Michelle is a girly girl. She loves shoes, dresses, makeup and everything about being a woman! Michelle loves a challenge. She’s always looking to do things differently than how they’ve always been done. Lemiga Events is a premier event design boutique specializing in stylish and glamorous affairs for a discerning clientele. They are passionate about creating unique and exceptional moments that will be remembered for a lifetime. Their love for design and intricate details is what defines our signature event style. Enchanting venues, sumptuous fabrics, stunning florals and captivating stationery are some of the elements that make our events spectacular. I love working with Michelle. She is the epitome of a wedding planner. Her glamorous style and attention to detail ensures that each and every client feels appreciated, her service is valued, and the wedding is amazing!

What I love most is that Michelle, like me, is a mom! She is married and has two adorable daughters. I know that she is setting an example of how to be successful in every aspect of life. Kudos Mrs. Gainey!

Michelle has a passion for educating and inspiring fellow associates in the wedding and event industry. You can hear her share her knowledge in an intimate setting and speak with her personally at the Atlanta Planner’s Workshop at StudioWed happening February 18-19, 2012. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

I am so excited to be working alongside two of the most incredible wedding and event planners this side of heaven! Fast friends and passionate partners, The Atlanta Wedding Creative, brought us together to educate and inspire this industry with amazing design! One of my partners is Brian Green of F&G Weddings. Brian, known as Chief Dream Maker and Creative Visionary of F & G Weddings, is an award winning event planner with many years of experience in creating the most fabulous weddings for clients. I have embraced the honor of providing custom stationery for many of his brides over the last several years. Each time we meet I am totally blown away by the level of creativity he brings to each wedding. Brian is known for the “best friend experience” and I can truly attest to his passion and overwhelming desire for each client to have the most fabulous experience as they prepare for their big day. Wedding planners are not created equal. You may find some who concentrate on logistics, others who concentrate on design, but Brian is the complete package. He prides himself on taking your vision and creating that fabulous factor for every client in a way that speaks to who they are and what they want for their wedding day! With an amazing creative team to support his design and his ability to execute flawlessly, Brian Green works tirelessly to ensure love is always in the details.

Marvelous Mayhem!

Marvelous Mayhem!
This May, we are excited to feature five lovely couples who have allowed us to fulfill their papered dreams. We hope each of these couples’ designs may inspire you just as they have inspired us.
Amy Rancier and Greg Goodrich
Amy and Greg were  joined in Holy Matrimony last weekend and we know that their wedding was as fabulous as they are. The Ritz-Carlton was glowing with purple and platinum and their love surely added just the right amount of sparkle. Their wedding monogram is modern, simple, and elegant. It showcases that while Amy and Greg are individuals, together they are stronger and much more prominent. Amy’s stationery included a 5×5 pocketfold for their wedding invitation and their wedding day stationery included a slender and sleek program design. We were blessed to share in this papered journey with Amy and Greg and it is our prayer that their marriage is forever blessed with love, joy, and peace.
Congratulations Amy and Greg!
We look forward to sharing photos of their beautiful stationery soon.

StudioWed wins Best Gallery at Bridal Extravaganza Atlanta!

StudioWed wins Best Gallery at Bridal Extravaganza Atlanta!

We are overwhelmed with excitement and humbled by the honor to share with you that we recently were awarded “Best Gallery” Award at the Bridal Extravangza of Atlanta. Our tablescape theme was inspired by the recent box office movie hit, “Black Swan” and our design team really raised the bar in the Atlanta wedding and event design industry. We had the privilege of working with Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events, Danny Wilson of The Savage Garden, Tamara Gollob of I Do Linens and Sharon Alexander of Sweet Sensations. The red, black and white decor was creatively enhanced by each vendor with their own special touch.

We also participated in the “Love” themed tablescape that was inspired by a vision Toni McDaniel of Floral Couture Atlanta brought to us. Lemiga Events, I Do Linens and Sweet Sensations and I came together to design this lovely pink and purple modern, chic eventscape. This year bold, brazen color pallets are back so this was the perfect display for 2011 brides.

Kudos StudioWed Atlanta for another job well done!

A F&G Wedding

A F&G Wedding

Not often do you come across a client who you do not service, but they leave a lasting impression. I’m sure I haven’t ever blogged about anyone. I guess there is a first time for everything. I met Dornechia and Kenny through, Brian Green of F&G Weddings. We initially met for a stationery consultation; however, we did not provide stationery for their wedding. Dornechia and Kenny were an adorable couple. Love was so in the air during our meeting. We’ve kept up with them through their planning process knowing they booked one of our favorite photographers, Shawna Herring, of Shawna Herring Photography. Well, I just wanted to share this beautiful slideshow she put together for them. Enjoy!

WUW Atlanta Launches Moulin Rouge Style!

WUW Atlanta Launches Moulin Rouge Style!

Wish Upon a Wedding is the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances regardless of sexual orientation.  Our organization offers couples a chance to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health or other serious issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends.

By celebrating the courage & spirit of these couples, we help create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come. It is our hope that others facing similar situations will find hope, strength, and the promise of eternal love.

Lisa and April of Papered Wonders, Inc.

The Atlanta Chapter, led by Brian Green of F&G Weddings, celebrated their launch party Moulin Rouge style at one of Atlanta’s newest hot spots, The Mansion Elan. If you missed it, you missed a great party. There was great entertainment provided by an aerialist from Entanglement Circus Troop and a fabulous S’mores Bar by Peachy Treat Candy Buffet Bar.

Many thanks to all of our great sponsors. We certainly look forward to some great Atlanta weddings produced by all of the top vendors in the wedding industry. If you’re interested in becoming a wish granter, visit the Wish Upon A Wedding National website. “Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that he has given you.” Deuteronomy 16:17

Bride's Tea ~ The International Bridal Affair

Bride's Tea ~ The International Bridal Affair

Recently, we participated in the International Bridal Affair upon invitation from Bride’s Tea with some of our fellow StudioWed vendors. We had the pleasure of working on an amazing design team including The Wedding Box, The Savage Garden and I Do Linens. We were certainly in awe of the creativity that went from a brainstorming conference call session to life at the show.

Here are a few photos from the show provided to us by Eli Silva Photography. Thank you!
